Nighthawks Theatre Spotlight
What we do
Nighthawks Theatre Spotlight supports student participation in theatre programs at Newtown High School. We provide production support for NHS plays and musicals and recognize student achievement in theatre arts.
Production Support
Theater productions have many moving parts, both visible and behind the scenes. We strive to help support this when we can with volunteer coordination and grant funding.
Student Recognition
The students in drama productions are hard working and dedicated. Their efforts deserve to be recognized. We strive to make sure that happens!
Theater is a year-round activity for Newtown High School. It starts with the fall show at the very beginning of the school year and goes directly into two other Drama opportunities (Unified and Spring Musical). We strive to help with background things that arise for the shows the school offers. To lift some of the strain off of the adults that support these programs every year. And also to recognize the students that dedicate so much time, energy and talent to these incredible productions.
Why Support Theater?
Theater is a safe space. It is where all students belong, no matter who they are or what they are interested in. There is a place for everyone in the theater. Theater encourages self-worth, understanding and acceptance of differences in others, courage, independence, hard work and dedication to something bigger. No show goes on without every part being done with spirit and dedication. Just like a sport, they learn how to support and encourage each other and how to be part of a team. Your support helps make this possible.
